music in the mausoleum
Jun. 19th, 2006 07:28 amThis has apparently been going on annually for a decade, but I hadn't heard of it until
n6tqs mentioned it to me a couple days ago: The Garden of Memory, a walk-through concert. Various musicians - the ones I've heard of are mostly ambient environmentalists of the "Deep Listening" school - will be playing continuously for four hours in the nooks and crannies of a mausoleum in Oakland on Wednesday evening.
My musical experiences in buildings designed by Julia Morgan have been pleasant ones. This sounds very cool, and I think I shall go.
