thoughts on picking up a passenger at an airport

1. If this airport has the wit to put up signs at the security exits reading "Meet Incoming Passengers Here," why can't they put up some benches to sit on while you wait, or even a screen listing the incoming flights? Why do you have to keep walking back to the checkin counter for that?

2. As long as we still can't go to the gates, what I'd really like would be a flashing sign listing the flight that the current knot of passengers exiting security are from. It's so awkward to stop them and ask.

3. The U.S. is too wide. It takes too long to fly from one side of it to the other. We should narrow it. It's Obama's fault.
