Dear postal carriers,
Dec. 11th, 2009 01:50 pmwho are difficult to address because there seems to be a different one for every day of the week,
We receive mail through a letter slot in the garage door. Next to the garage is the gate to our front patio, and the front door to the house is hidden around on the other side of the patio.
When we receive a package too large to fit through the slot, please do not, in decreasing sense from the reasonable but unpreferred to the ridiculous,
1) Leave the package out in the rain (or sun) inside the patio, which has no cover;
2) Balance the package on top of the patio fence, from which it will inevitably fall off;
3) Try to stuff the package through the slot anyway, leaving it dangling out on the garage door. It was finding one of these yesterday that took the cake.
Instead, go around the patio and leave the package on the front porch, where we can easily find it and where it will be at least slightly protected in the weather, as the package service delivery folks do.
Thank you.
