A post full of "my ghod, I thought I was the only one" reactions from people who just don't find Terry Pratchett or P.G. Wodehouse very funny. Me neither.

Can't say I've read much of P.G. Wodehouse, but I also don't find Terry Pratchett consistently funny. I think it's the constant asides and footnotes that wear me down.

However, I find Jasper Fforde roll around on the floor funny, no matter if I read them or listen to the audio book. I love the various accents of the characters.

I love asides and footnotes - if they're funny. So it isn't just that.

Jasper Fforde struck me as clever but not funny, and so needlessly cold and complex that I could care about neither the characters nor the story.

Wodehouse and Pratchett are charming and amusing. Occasionally funny, but it's not like I have to worry about them spraining my laff muscle, and that's alright. Of the two, I enjoy Pratchett more. It may be because he is more modern and I get more of the in-jokes and the social satire.
