UK political neepery
Jul. 20th, 2022 09:21 pmSo it's Sunak and Truss. About what I expected.
If it were up to the MPs, or the general voters, the choice would surely be Sunak, who seems slightly less batty. But it's up to the party activists, who probably prefer Truss for the same reason. It's not looking well for the Tories. Remember when they picked IDS? And that was when they were out of office.

Date: 2022-07-21 12:06 pm (UTC)I agree that the fundamental problem is Brexit, coupled with the ideology of the Conservatives. No Conservative will be able to successfully lead the country when they are tightly bound to Brexit. And Labour aren't willing to challenge Brexit in case it loses them the election.
