I'm not going to read the article. Does he go into the matter of spit? I remember never using a practice room after a brass player - their instruments collect spit inside and it has to be emptied out periodically. It's totally disgusting.

Singers lose a lot of water when they sing with all the breath required and the exhaling. A singer with a virus is going to contaminate you faster than someone you're just speaking with.

No. This is purely about the aesthetic experience of a concert without an audience, and the economic prospects for the ensembles. Doesn't discuss virus concerns for the performers at all, as I mentioned. It should. Benj tells me that that concern is why the sports leagues gave up on the idea of performing without an audience.
