In keeping with the age-old "If this is good, it's not science fiction" meme, here's a reviewer who thinks that if novels of a dystopian future aren't Hunger Games clones, then they "aren't exactly fantasy," even if they're by a past winner of the World Fantasy Award.

I'm not sure it's actually the case that the Dept of Inappropriate Comparisons in Book Reviews is particularly well-supplied by people who do not read sff reviewing some work of sff, because I have seen some real howlers over crime fiction as well (and indeed litfic), but it does seem like a particularly recurrent trope of desperation.
