out of the picture

Time to match my movie-going of last year to the list of Oscar nominees. Hm, usually I've seen more than this. Of the films nominated for best picture, the four acting awards, directing, or screenwriting, I've only seen one: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Which I've seen twice: it was worth the trouble. Gave half a thought to Finding Neverland but didn't get around to it; have no interest whatever in the subjects of Ray or Million Dollar Baby; thought Sideways sounded a little repulsive; didn't read about The Aviator at all.

I haven't seen any of the best picture nominees; like you, I've seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I wouldn't mind seeing Ray.

I've only seen The Aviator--impressed--the rest sound dreary and dreadful. I wouldn't mind seeing Ray except I can't stand most jazz.
