Once again, democracy suffered a stinging defeat when the cats' Occupy the Hiding Spaces strategy was crushed by an invasion of the forces of the autocracy, and the protesters were imprisoned in their cat carriers and taken to the vet.

Of course, once there, they'd prefer to remain in the carriers. Pippin, indeed, having proven impossible to nudge by hand, when dumped from his carrier, open end down, onto the table, immediately leaped straight up and back into it, an impressive feat for a 15-pound slug.

Anyway, their dietary restrictions, something else they don't get a vote on though they'd certainly like one, seem to be working, though slowly, in their desired opposite directions (Pandora is getting larger and Pippin is getting smaller). So on the cat front at least, life is without trauma (unless you're one of the cats).

For those who wish a visual impression, the top right photo here is new.

So adorable! Thanks for sharing the photos. Pippin looks a lot like my Mughi.

And the Boys will have to have their own Day of Infamy at the vets soon.

Our two cats have a disparity in size, too; Macavity, the younger, is nearly twice the weight of Taiki, the elder, partly because he's fat and Taeki is lean, but also because he's about 50% longer. But in their twice daily grappling Taiki manages to hold his own.

I've said for years that if you want to understand "entitlement" you have only to own cats. . . .

It's not too obvious from their shared photo, but Pippin is three times Pandora's size. He is, however, a giant wuss (if Aragorn called on him to join the march to the Black Gate, he'd run away; for that matter, even if Aragorn didn't, Pippin would still run away), and lets Pandora dominate him something awful.

Those are great photos. And you got almost all my favorite Cat Weather Predictor Positions (Meatloaf for really cold, Round for somewhat cold, Flatcat for Hot)
