Home from the Mythopoeic group's annual Reading and Eating meeting. I made my usual rice pilaf with zucchini, raisins, and pine nuts. At Mythcon last summer JDR had informed me that Ray Bradbury's Casey at the Bat pastiche, "Ahab at the Helm", which I'd first seen listed in a bibliography 20 years ago and had never located an actual copy of, now existed in book form, so I got a copy and read that as my contribution. It was worth the 20 years' wait. (You can find it online on Google Books if you want.) B. read from The Father Christmas Letters. C. read "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn." E. read MacGyver's chocolate chip cookie recipe. (We get all types.) A. read "Macavity the Mystery Cat" in a manner that made me want to read it in my manner. Maybe next year.
