calimacI'm not going to hold my breath waiting for the people who consider AIDS to be God's judgment on homosexuals, or Katrina to have been God's punishment of sinful New Orleans, to react to the destruction by a bolt of lightning of Cincinnati's Giant Jesus.
Ironically, this landmark of, um, kitsch was on my list of local tourist sights on my trip to the city a couple weeks ago, but we skipped it due to lack of time. Now, like the Old Man of the Mountains, it's gone, but at least it isn't preserved on a state quarter. All that's left is the steel frame, which looks more like a giant robot. The owners say they will rebuild it. That would be the Second Coming of the Giant Jesus. Thought about putting a lightning rod on top of his head this time?
