calimacA few days after finding something I usually keep with me that had been misplaced for quite some time, I lose another object in the same category: my cell phone. First time that's happened in five years of having one.
This is not as catastrophic as it could be for some, because I don't use it a lot; but for the same reason, it's hard to pinpoint when it went walkabouts. Could have been any time between when I came home Sunday evening, which is the last time I know I used it, and Wednesday, because it was Thursday morning when I noticed it wasn't in its usual pocket, from which it had probably fallen out.
It probably hasn't been found by an honest person, because it wasn't in the lost-and-found of the two places I know I've been, and an honest person who didn't turn it in would presumably have turned it on, found the quick-dial listing for "Home", and called that. And a dishonest person who found it would probably be using it, and when I call the number it's still off.
This also means, of course, that if it's in hiding somewhere around the house - also possible, though I've checked everywhere it could have fallen out - that I can't call it and listen for the ring tone.
Well, I'll give it a few more days, and then go into the phone store and see what I can do about this. It'll be a nuisance to replace, because I insist on a flip-top phone and they're getting hard to find.
