it's Steeleye Span

The official announcement has finally hit the band's mailing list: Steeleye Span - or what's left of them - are taking a North American tour in July. Here's the dates. I already have my ticket. Now I should acquire and listen to the two albums they've issued since the last time I bought anything by them. I need to update myself: what I'll be hearing is half the band that I knew plus another three people I've never heard of before.

But I'm looking forward to this, and so - I hope, if I can find them - are my earplugs. I last heard Steeleye live in 1997 or so, in the days of their sizzling Silver Age, at a nearly deserted outdoor arena at the Monterey fairgrounds. Long time.
