My attendance was spotty, because I had to work today. One article finalized and submitted, one concert attended for review tomorrow. I was also one of N who went offsite to attend a wake. I missed the auction and the play.

Chris told us about fanzine archives.

Various people misremembered details of the history of the Elves', Gnomes', and Little Men's Science Fiction, Chowder and Marching Society, and magscanner showed slides from the 70s. We all looked much younger than I remember us looking.

Dave Hicks spoke amusingly about his amusing fan cartoons.

Nobody on the quiz teams remembered who chaired Corflu Ocho, but I did. (Hi, richardthe23rd)

I gave the same people directions about five times to the Indian ice cream parlor just down the street. I hope they got there.

I'm writing a review mentioning that one of the works originated as music for a ballet by Twyla Tharp. I wrote that down as Thyla Twarp. I need more sleep.

Corflu, Sunday

The banquet included eggs with sliced bell peppers, and spicy taco meat with sliced bell peppers. I hope you liked sliced bell peppers.

Spike is immediate past president of fwa, in a narrow win over John D. Berry.

Next year is Corflu Glitter in Vegas. Joyce promises it will be anywhere but the Plaza.

Carrie's GoH speech was an illustrated travelogue of her and Andy's sightseeing of natural and manmade wonders after ... wait for it ... the previous Vegas Corflu.

FAAn awards were imitations of Drake's brass plate, hand-pounded with inscriptions by Tom B. Winners: artist, Steve Stiles; Harry Warner Jr. memorial correspondence, Robert Lichtman; fanzine, Trap Door; web site, efanzines; writer, Roy Kettle; life achievement, Art Widner. Lichtman (twice), Bill Burns, and the Wonderful Beard accepted in person.

Adjourned to the con suite for the scarfing of the last snacks, the disposal of the badges, the muchness of the conversations, and the intimations of dinner.
