At yesterday's family Easter celebration, I wore a new knit green shirt. It did not have the alligator on, but it did have an emblem with the word IZOD.

I was asked what this meant, and as "It's the manufacturer's brand name" seemed too boring, I began to spin a tale of the Old Testament prophet Izod, son of Abrahod, who prophecied most of the rules from Leviticus about what types of fabric it's permissible to wear.

For a while this was taken seriously.

We are returned with too much cake, and a wedding invitation.

LOL! I love it! Now you're making me want more stories of Izod, the Material Prophet.

:D

You trickster you, trading shamelessly on your reputation for unstinting scholarly and intellectual rectitude. Heavens unmoored!

I'd have listened attentively, even thought "Izod, son of Abrahod," would have set the alarm bells a'clangin'.
