This is only going to make things worse.
Spot shortages for specific vaccine providers have resulted in our county announcing that, contrary to previous policy that people on HMO plans need to get the Covid vaccine from their own provider, anybody over 65 can now get the vaccine from any provider in the county.
(Apparently those of us who are slightly under 65 but have exacerbating conditions, who were originally in the same tier as the 65+ age group, were taken out and then put back in again, have been taken out again.)
It doesn't say and provides no information to find out who the county's providers of vaccine are, or how to sign up with them (our HMO has been saying all along don't call them, they'll call you, so I don't even know how to sign up with them), or how to find out which ones have vaccine right now and which don't, let alone how to get in the queue before other people take all the available slots.
Everybody's just going to get real impatient and it's going to be chaos, like trying to get a taxi in a crowd in Rome. (We eventually gave up and walked back.) I'd rather stay isolated for another month or two than deal with this.
