Thanks so much for this lovely remembrance. The first time I met Andi was at a Norwescon some time in the early eighties, and we became instant friends, in that way that falling into friendship can be like falling in love. The last time I saw her was at Vonda's memorial, when we knew her prognosis. We talked briefly -- most of my conversations at the memorial were brief, since I was just a few days out of surgery myself at that point -- about our first meeting, and a little bit about her wedding. I knew that might be the last time I'd see her.
Between those two meetings, there were thirty-some years of movies and dinners and expeditions to the art museum and running into each other at the farmers' market. Never quite enough of any of those; never quite enough of any of those with any of our friends.
