Years ago I heard a joke, purportedly from the Nordic countries:

A cruise ship sailing from the Baltic was wrecked and its passengers had to survive on a small island. Two years later they were rescued. In the interim, the two Finns had cut down trees and made small houses and fishing boats. The two Norwegians had taken the boats out and caught lots of fish. The two Danes had found wild goats in the interior, tamed some of them, and started dairying. And the two Swedes? They hadn't done anything; they hadn't been introduced!

A lot of those national stereotypes turn up in the Webcomic Scandinavia and the World (http://satwcomic.com/the-world), which I generally find entertaining. . . .
