1. LJ is being erratic about sending comment notifications. I thought it was my e-mail provider, which is getting a little overenthusiastic about blocking spam, but I changed to another account, and it's not always working there either. I've been using the "recent comments" display as a backup. I was quite surprised when I just checked and found 5 comments on my latest post, which I'd doubted would generate any.
2. One of the comments opines that the story of "The Little Drummer Boy" is "dumb." I can't say I've found it so, any more than the whole premise of Nativity carols of Christ-child-worshipping is dumb, but that reminds me that there is one such carol with a line that looks a little less than optimally intelligent. It's from "Do You Hear What I Hear?"

A Child, a Child, shivers in the coldWouldn't that make him even colder and less comfortable? How about:
Let us bring him silver and gold
Let us bring him silver and gold.
A Child, a Child, shivers in the night
Let us bring him heat and some light
Let us bring him heat and some light.
