I wrote about this earlier in the year, an essay based on quite of few observations and posts over the years. A Post-Attention Span World

Right now, we live in a post-attention span world. We have to multitask, and pay attention to a lot of things at the same time. If we're not liveblogging an event (observing, typing and answering feedback) we're talking on the phone while driving (or texting), holding IM conversations with many people at once, or simply have multiple windows open to flip back and forth at will.

I have no doubt that our brains are wired differently now that we have different tools. We were wired differently before the invention of writing, as it says in the essay.

But it's likely an improvement. We will live in a different world, but we live in a different world than our parents.

Deal.
