Returning to the Beatles and their imitators, if I wanted the original band I could, as the girls who screamed at them replied when told that the music was inaudible through the screaming, just stay home and listen to the records. If I want live, I had to take this, and live, as long experience with classical has taught me, has a sizzle that records just don't, even if the record is a better performance.
But actually I thought the synergy at this concert was very good. As I pointed out in the review, everything happened exactly when it was supposed to; and it didn't drag. Those are the essential ingredients for me.
