Oh, this is not a famous Symphony No. 7 by any means, but one of those two obscure modern works by composers even I'd barely heard of. A quick stroll through my catalog database reveals that I have works by 24 different composers called "Symphony No. 7", including at least two by composers who didn't write one. (I'll leave that as a puzzle.) One is even Tolkienian: Aulis Sallinen's, subtitled "The Dreams of Gandalf" and based on some unused LOTR ballet music.
Jackson's look? Yes, pretty good. Feel? Absolutely not, even poorer than Bakshi's. Jackson's faithfulness to the simple plot was far greater than to the feel and spirit of Middle-earth.
