My mother. She fell in a wet parking lot Friday night. She had been shopping with my sister. My sister was wearing her "shop 'til you drop" T-shirt. She shopped, she dropped. Broken hip, slipped into coma due to bleeding on the brain. Brain surgery yesterday in Redwood City after transpo from Kaiser Santa Teresa. Came through surgery okay but is not out of the woods. They won't address the broken hip until it's clear she will survive the aftermath of the surgery and brain issue. They had to take her off her blood thinner for the surgery. She's had blood clots near her heart for several years, so there is a big risk that she could have a heart attack and die.
I spent most of the day helping set up and then attending a memorial service (for dbubley, who died last June. It was a good one, and I'm sure I had a better day than you did.

Yes, thank you, my day was better. We've had enough of hospitals recently... I hope you needn't have more to do with them any time soon.
