LJ goes to space

This evening, every time I try visiting LJ using Firefox, my usual browser, I get a woo-woo message reading "502 Bad Gateway". This sounds like something that would foil the Heaven's Gate mass suicide, a street address at a German resort, or perhaps a corrupt version of a Fred Pohl novel.

Works fine on other browsers, though.

It's complaining about a bad proxy, which you probably don't want to be using unless you're trying to get around a firewall. Try tools>options>network>connections>settings and select "no proxies". I'd be interested to hear what other selection was made, if it was. (If "no proxies" is already selected, I don't have another good idea...)

It's part of the ongoing meltdown. It was happening to me, too, and the proxy (which I need when connected to my employer's network) was not turned on. (I have an add-in to toggle it on and off.)

I have "Direct connection to the Internet," so proxies are grayed out.
