I was sitting and reading at B's usual spot on the sofa (B. wasn't home), and Pandora came and sat on my lap for the longest time. She doesn't usually do that; it's just B's lap she wants. But she looks like she's been ailing more, sitting around hunched up into a tiny loaf, and maybe she needed the comfort. (She's going to the vet on Friday. She won't want to go.)

What was funny was that Pippin spent much of this time on the staircase, looking down at us through the railing. Hey, there's room for two down here if you had the nerve to take it, you giant wuss.

Might it also be that Pippin didn't want to share? Maybe he was thinking that staring and glaring would be enough to communicate that he did not approve of you giving attention to Pandora in "B fashion".

Pippin never comes up on a lap. He wants to, but he's afraid. He often stands just out of arms' reach, looking up at me, while Pandora rests on my lap. He's still too feral.
