calimac... that B. and I had a pleasant evening out tonight, starting with dinner at a small neighborhood Mexican/Central American restaurant we like, where I had camarones en mole, shrimp in that dark spicy sauce, with an even more strikingly unusual flavor because of (so the owner was proud to inform me) the white poppy seeds sprinkled on top.
Then over to downtown Mountain View for a drop into the bookstore that sells a vast variety of discounted wall calendars, and picked one particularly cute set of cat pictures among the 500 others to grace our kitchen wall for next year. And some gelato for dessert before into East/West books for the annual Brocelïande Christmas concert in their back room. lisa_marli. Warm and toasty music. Singalongs of "Good King Wenceslas" and "Gloucestershire Wassail," which I know how to spell, you bet, and sing, too. "Wassail, wassail all over the toon / Our toast it is white and our ale it is broon." Examined Kris's new indescribable bowed/keyed Swedish folk instrument thingie. Exchanged greetings with Kristoph and Margaret. Drank warm wassail punch in the afterwards.
