Good news, yes, but for relevance to my point, I'd like to know what large shifts in basic common care practice have contributed to this.
I knew a few things about changes in childbirth practice over that period that have been positive, and one that seems problematic: a vast rise in caesarians. Sometimes that can save a life, but it's also being used when unnecessary as a CYA procedure by the hospitals, and that can't be good.
