Having been to a caroling party this afternoon, I feel strangely filled with the spirit of the season. Maybe if I lie down it will go away. But before I do so, here's my favorite version of my favorite carol:

I was referring to genuine carols, the kind that might be sung at a caroling part. If we're going to include parodies and critiques, I would go with this one. Three Jewish boys, myself and two others you know, spontaneously broke out into this song while driving past the Christmas-decorated Burbank galleria on the way to a Loscon dinner expedition, and we all knew all the words, by heart.

Somehow I had never heard the Tom Leher song. If it's a good fountain pen and a pencil, I wouldn't mind!
