I wasn't expecting a political survey phone call to be useful. Our state assemblymember is termed out this year, a fact that had not come to the forefront of our attention, so I knew nothing about who was running to succeed him. Consequently it was informative when the list of names read to me over the phone, only some of which I was vaguely familiar with, turned out to be the candidates. After a series of rapidly-read infodumps, including some hilarious mispronunciations of local town names, I settled at the end of the call for the candidate endorsed by the incumbent.
