events come in threes
Jun. 11th, 2011 11:11 pm1. Morning event. The annual Portuguese festival in Kelley Park. I go for the food. Linguica sandwich and "fisherman's soup" for lunch. Tasty.
2. Afternoon event. Collating PR#2 for Westercon in a borrowed office. Half a dozen of us sitting around attaching stamps and stickers to wobbily printed pages for a couple hours, while cracking wise.
3. Evening event. A nearby free Shakespeare festival has come to my attention by changing its venue to a stage in the back of a small educational farm in my neighborhood. I've bought vegetables there, but I'd never seen a play on the premises. This evening was the Scottish Play. Some imaginative staging decisions, but with a few exceptions - an eerily gaunt Lady M. noteworthy among them, some overacting witches less so - the actors are mostly stolid and inert. We get exchanges like this:
