There, that one shouldn't be readable as the name for a band.

What's being divined is the state of Pandora's health. I can now say for sure that the shot the vet gave her a few days ago has been a miracle cure. All the problematic emissions from both ends that I've spared you description of have just ... stopped.

We're much happier, and so, clearly, is Pandora. Her appetite has increased dramatically, as if to make up for lost time. As it should be, for if she'd lost any more weight she would have softly and suddenly vanished away.

The cure has been so dramatic that I wonder if it has made it through the fuzzy cat brain that the dreaded trip to the vet had something to do with it. Maybe that'll make it easier next time, when the shot begins to wear off, presumably a few weeks from now.

What hasn't made it through the fuzzy brain is that the cat really is going to get fed. It's always amused me that every cat I've ever been responsible for feeding merely hangs around underfoot as you go into the kitchen; it's when you actually start to feed the cat - like, picking up the bowl from the floor and opening a new can of cat food - that the cat starts meowing desperately, as if hoping against all odds to remind you, "Don't forget to feed the cat!"
