phonibaria
Mar. 30th, 2010 11:02 pmDespite the fact that my new cell phone is just like my old one, I feel like a novice user. Nothing is going right. When I took B's car in for servicing this morning, the service adviser called to let me know the car was ready, but I didn't hear the phone ring. Maybe it didn't; when I try test calling it at home, it sometimes goes straight to voicemail even though the phone is on and the little reception-level bars are showing.
I spent a considerable amount of time, while waiting for the car, trying to figure out how to delete a lot of useless rubbish numbers, that the phone had come loaded with, from the contact list. Couldn't figure it out until I got home and RTFM'd.
Went online to find some superior ring tones. Amid all the junk they actually have a few classical selections. Followed the instructions for buying them, and got stuck at the download instructions. It says "Click on Text Message link." I'm not sure what this means. The accompanying screenshot implies it's something you do on your phone, not on the computer, but I never got a text message for the ringtones I tried to buy, assuming that's what I was supposed to get. Called up customer service. They were equally baffled, as if nobody had ever tried to buy a ringtone online before. Got disconnected. Called back only to discover that in the two-minute interval they had apparently all gone home for the night. Good grief.
