Newsletter: A Personal Heresy: A Controversy, by C.S. Lewis and E.M.W. Tillyard (Concordia University Press, 2008 reprint): Available this summer in its first reprint since its original publication in 1939 ...
Me: Not exactly. I have an Oxford University Press softcover edition dated 1965.
Editor: You are correct about the Oxford edition, but according to the publisher the first edition was in 1939.
Me: I think I haven't made the point, small as it is, clear. Yes, the first edition was 1939; that is undisputed. But the blurb says that the 2008 reprint is the FIRST reprint SINCE the original publication, and that is not exactly true. IN ADDITION TO the first edition (hardcover, of course), there was also an OUP softcover edition dated 1965.
Editor: In this regard, I believe they are saying that this is the first cloth reprint since 1939.
