On one hand, this was a 285-page book (exclusive of endnotes) that I read in only an hour and a half. That's the upside of being neither as dense nor as interesting as John McPhee. On the other hand, my summary has given pretty much all I got out of the book, since he doesn't have much to say about his insights other than to lay them out.
