which of two concerts?

They're on at the same time. They're both good orchestras. Which one should I attend?

1) Beethoven: Leonore Overture No. 3
Philip Glass: Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Orchestra
Berio: Rendering for Orchestra

2) Corigliano – Promenade Overture
Beethoven – Symphony No. 8
Florence Price – Symphony No. 3

Both good but I think I'd go for the second.

I would go for #1. The Beethovens more or less balance, with a slight edge to the "Leonore"; and, while the other two pieces on both sound interesting, the Glass is the one that tips it for me.

Ever since being seated on scaffolding in Edinburgh that they decided to bang on, Glass would tip it for me too, just the other way.

Remarks like that always make me suspect that someone hasn't heard much Glass. Here, this is some Glass. The solo violin comes in at one minute in; what comes before is just vamping.
