That description of communism is very much like how life in a religious order is. (Religious orders, not diocesan priests like Fr. John.) Those vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience mean you don't own anything. If you need a laptop to do your work and the convent gets you one, it is not your property. (I don't know if they still require dowries to join. They used to.)
