An absolutely stupendous Eighth from Blomstedt and the SFS some years ago cemented my love for that work. I also really like the Sixth, which they're playing under Carlos Kalmar next month. I'm actually not that fond of the Seventh, in truth, and would rank the Fifth above it. Of the first four, though, IMHO the less said the better. But maybe I should give them another listen: it's been many years.
And while it's possible to overplay the New World, if I go a while without listening to it, when I do hear it I still have to say, what a great work. And so utterly different from all the others, or so it sounds to me.
