The vaccines are known to protect people from developing severe covid-19, but it isn't known whether they stop people being contagious. So if you get vaccinated, you still have to proceed as though you're an asymptomatic carrier.
It stops when either we know that vaccines stop transmission altogether, or a sufficient percentage of the people in your area are vaccinated (70% is the most common figure I've seen).
