Sometimes I plot "shortest route" mapping service directions just for the amusement value. I know one service whose San Jose-Fresno directions take you over the Panoche Pass towards Mendota. That was one of the funniest.

There are lots of other problems with these things: the "enter on the exit ramp" problem; the "drive 742.6 miles and then turn right" problem ...
