I do pick and choose which programs I see: I've only been to the ballet twice in the last five years. And why did I go? A combination of music particularly appealing to me and esteemed choreography.

Well, the ballet orchestra is competent but only intermittently actually good, and clearly I cannot trust critical evaluations of choreography. (Nor do I feel I can judge such work on this level from video clips.) Therefore I'm retreating to the safe ground of work I know is good. Let whatever else is on the program, which in that case would be chosen by someone with at least some good taste, present itself then.
