Hmm... cheating a bit, because that band started in 1969 and I tend to think of them in the same breath as Fairport Convention and SSpan.

Getting back, simultaneously, to The Beatles and covers, I've never heard a bad cover of "Eleanor Rigby". No, that's not a challenge to find me one. It's my favorite Beatles song, a co-fave w/"While My Guitar Gently Weeps", and many groups do exceptional versions.
