Apologies for the lack of clarity. I was responding to this:

This is not an attitude to take to a professional performance review (hear that, Joshua Kosman and your hate-on for Carmina Burana?).

1. I think hating Carmina Burana is entirely justified, because:
a. It is overblown crap. I feel about it much the way you feel about the Berlioz Te Deum (except that it really is crap, however elemental and skillful it might be).
b. It is a watered-down, popularized ripoff of Les Noces, which is a great, great piece. I am not the only person to have noticed the resemblance and made
this assertion, which I've seen made by a couple of other music writers. If you don't accept "ripoff," try "derivative."

2. Then there's the entirely separate question of whether it is appropriate to display one's hatred in a review. Sometimes I find this irritating, when it's Bernard Holland. Sometimes I find it amusing, when it's JK hating on Saint-Saens. Sometime I cheer even though it might be wrong, when it's JK hating on Carmina.

3. And perhaps it's all a matter of taste, in which I hate/you love (or like) Carmina, you hate/I love the Berlioz.
