I had one of the big drawer P.O. boxes so we could receive bulky APA submissions after hours without having to pick them up at the desk. Also, flat-mailed fanzines could be delivered without being folded. The box dated back to the multi-fan-household days; I think it was somewhat jointly tenanted. As the last resident of that group in East Lansing, I inherited the box, and its costs. I think three different APAs were run through that P.O. box over the years.
About 20 years ago, some time after I had moved to Ann Arbor, the rate for that drawer-sized box in East Lansing went up beyond what I was willing to pay, so away it went. I sometimes pay my respects to that box when I'm in the campus Union Building, where it is still located.
