My percussion instructor in college was a big Cage fan, and the college percussion ensemble once did a whole concert of Cage's works (including 4'33"). My favorite piece on the program was First Contruction in Metal.
We played a piece by Henry Cowell once--Ostinato Pianissimo. My part was played on a collection of PVC pipe of different lengths, and I remember it being the hardest piece to learn of anything that I played in college. The irony is that in performance I probably could have hit any number of wrong notes and no one would have been the wiser. :-)
