After years of having an upright (probably of your class 3 category) and moving it half a dozen times, I got a grand piano. Shock of shocks! there are easier to move. It's unnerving but the piano mover lays it on its side and whacks off the legs (they're designed to come off) with a large softish mallet. Ultimately the piano is much smaller going through doors, etc., than an upright.
I'm glad Berni has her Mom's piano - that will be a nice resonance, through the years.
