The only classical-music "If you like A, try B" recommendations I regularly see are those in BBC Music Magazine, and I find them interesting and not half-bad.

But it is true that back in the bad old days of the serialist hegemony, composers' styles and practices would get discussed and compared in complete obliviousness of whether they were tonal or not, which to my mind was the first separation point.
