I notice you alphabetize names of the form “de X” or “von Y” under X and Y instead of D and V. (I was also surprised to see Ralph Vaughan Williams under V, so I looked it up and discovered that unhyphenated double-barreled surnames exist.) My own habit would be to put “de X” and “von Y” in the surname field of a database and expect them to be sorted by alphabetical order there; would that violate the expectations of a trained librarian? (The library sorting exception I usually remember is that “Mc” goes under “Mac”.)
