That difference certainly exists. My own brother (the obnoxious one) asked me questions about Christian belief (knowing that, as a CSL reader, I'm versed in it), which he phrased as honest curious seeker questions, but it turned out he was only looking for another victim (he already had many, Christian friends of his) for his "gotchas." But his gotchas were specious, and I (unlike, apparently, his friends) was well-enough versed not to fall for them.

However! Can your apologist friend tell the difference between hiders, on the one hand, and seekers who are genuinely puzzled by the answers and seek further clarification? Or seekers who have read hider propaganda and want to know what the answers are? Because those are the kinds of seekers who get mistaken for hiders, i.e. sealions.
